The right way to maintain an inflatable paddleboard

To make your inflatable paddle board use longer, do a good job of maintenance and maintenance work is very important, inflatable paddle board maintenance mainly pay attention to the following aspects. 

1, paddle board cleaning

(1) Be sure to rinse the paddleboard after use. When you ride a day later, the river sediment, water plants and other debris will be attached to the surface of the paddleboard, if not cleaned thoroughly that is packed, these debris will destroy the surface texture of the paddleboard.

(2) If you like to fly in the sea, then in addition to cleaning the surface of the paddleboard, you also need to dry the board. If you store your inflatable paddleboard without drying it, the seawater residue on the surface will damage the paddleboard's appearance over time.

(3) Do not use any cleaners containing chemicals (not even soap) when cleaning. Simply sprinkle water with a hose and let it air dry.

2、Storage of paddle board

(1)After using the paddleboard, remember to remove all the accessories to avoid scratching the board when packing the board; then make sure to rinse it with water - all over, dry the water, make sure the board is dry when folding and storing.

(2) Although inflatable paddleboards are designed primarily for easy storage in a bag, people with storage space (e.g., in a garage) often leave their paddleboards in a partially inflated state. If you use your paddleboard more frequently, you don't want to deflate and inflate it every time. It is recommended that you deflate a small amount of air in case the area where you are storing it gets too hot and the heat expansion damages the side seals of the board causing air leaks.

(3) Store the board in a location that is protected from direct sunlight, which will cause natural thermal expansion. This will put pressure on the seams of the board, especially if the board is inflated to its maximum atmospheric pressure. In summary, do not expose your paddleboard to the sun when not in use. Otherwise, the fierce sunlight will destroy the appearance of the board.

3. Paddleboard Repair

Damage to the paddle board should be repaired in time, damage to the inflatable paddle board is generally common is the leakage of air and open glue, the specific methods of treatment are as follows.

(1)Air leakage

① Inflate the board to 7-10PSI, and spray soapy water on the area that may be leaking, if the leakage, there will be air bubbles generated in the area.

②Find the leaky area, mark it, and deflate the paddleboard thoroughly. Cover the perimeter of the area to be repaired with masking tape or adhesive tape to prevent the glue from overflowing. (Wipe the surface of the air leak clean before repairing.)

③ Take out the PVC sheet in the repair cylinder, cut out a suitable shape and apply glue (spread it evenly).

④Attach it to the air leak and press it.

⑤ Leave it for 48 hours until the glue dries and tear off the tape.

(2) Open the glue

(1) Inflate the board to 7-10PSI, find the place where the glue is open, and cover the periphery of the place where the glue is to be repaired with the adhesive tape to prevent the glue from rubbing to other places. (Similarly, for air leakage, wipe the surface of the open glue place clean before repairing.)

②Squeeze out the glue, spread it evenly along the open glue place, and then smooth it out.

③Leave it for 48 hours until the glue is completely dry, and then tear off the adhesive. (Same for air leakage)
